My CD drive in my Dell 3100 XP died. I just wanted something cheap and easy. Ordered the LG drive - it was cheap, quick free shipping. Came in a box with bubble wrap and nothing else! But I plugged it in, fired it up, and it worked perfectly. Couldn't be easier!

When I ordered this drive, I looked for any mention of it being a bulk or bare drive because I needed the drive cable, like what comes with a retail drive. So of course, the package I received was a bare drive in a plastic bag. The bag wasn't even taped shut. I now have to wait until I get to the store and buy a cable. This item came to my home without any instructions or anything, but compared to other hardware, it was very easy to install. It runs perfectly and didn't need any reformatting and i love it. the speed is downrgraded by the fact that my computer is very slow, but the disk drive itself is great.
