This drive is fantastic. I am running Windows Vista SP1 64bit version with the i7 920 processor. This drive worked perfectly. The initial post on my system detected the drive. I got the OEM version which came with Nero and PowerDVD. I didn't need any screws, SATA cables (although it also came with one), SATA power cable (that connects to the power supply), or a 5.25" brace. I had to email LG because of a question concerning the firmware and I got a quick response. This particular drive already had the latest firmware and it's a plug and play type of drive (which I was told by LG).
Everything worked out of the box, my motherboard detected the SATA drive, and it works like a charm. The only minus is when you are burning onto a disc, Very slow! Still, I love LG products and that's the only negative. For this product, you will get nowhere if you go to LG's website. You have to go to the United States LG website which is http://us.lge.com/
I have an A/C , a cell phone, and a refrigerator by LG. Soon, I will be buying an LG stove, microwave and dishwasher. They never disappoint!

Look, here is a real review besdies the fool in previous review. I bought this drive and it is fast and quiet, awesome. Then I went to try the lightscribe and it does not work. It WILL NOT work in Windows 64-bit and LG customer support is not responsive. I updated firmware and searched online then find other customers with similar issues. I suspect LG is working on a firmware upgrade as this is a new drive and I see similar patches there for older drives. Beware, go with something proven on x64 and visit support pages of vendors before you buy from them to see how easy it is to search for drivers, request support, etc. LG sucks for this, but if you have XP 32/Vista 32, you may be ok.

Purchased from Computer Brain. Item lasted 10 days. Called Computer Brain and requested replacement. Received an RMA number and was told to ship back post-paid and they would send new one post-paid. I sent back paying postage. They did refund part of my money but refused to ship new item. Last time I use either Computer Brain or Amazon. Service is non-existent. I wish I could use the language I want to use to explain how angry I really am at this moment. Rip-off artists.
